Hi Deborah, I love the whole Fright Night Score and have most of the versions of Come to me, but I do not have yours. You sang it beautifully! Is there anywhere it is available to download? I've been looking for it for years without any luck and the only way I can listen to it is to watch the credits from Fright Night II over and over!! Thank you so much! Michelle :)

Hi Deborah, I first heard your haunting voice on the song Come To Me, I've been hooked ever since. Thanks for being such an inspiration to me as a musician, god bless.

I fell in love with your voice when you did the music for "Circuitry Man". I was one of the few that went to the premier of the movie. "I Can't Stop Crying" is probably the favorite, but all are equally captivating. I don't see the songs from "Circuitry Man" listed on the CD's. Can I order them? Thanks for enriching the music world. Diana

All these peoples liking "Come to Me." Fine song, of course. But nothing tops the love theme from Circuitry Man. Yes, you heard right. The "LOVE" theme from Circuitry Man known as "You Do This to Me." An awesome torch song. Although the person who really likes, "I Want You in My Life" from the Animal Logic CD is showing powerful good taste.

Hi, I like the quality of your voice from the film fright night. Is the second voice on "come to me" also from you ? The other songs from you that I listen as MP3 and RealAudio sounds really different, not so mysterious, romantic, not that female touch as "come to me". Is there that kind of songs you think I would love to here ? Greetings with a big kiss, Marcel from Holland
4/5/2005: Alexander Lamprey alex.lamprey@ntlworld.com
Hi Deborah, Like almost everyone else on this site I love the song 'Come to Me.' I like the Brad Fiedel original but I much prefer your rendition. Thanks for making it available for download, very generous. I'm sure you're bored of being asked this but is also available on CD and if so where? If not please consider making it a bonus track on your next release, I'd buy it in an instant and I know there are many others who would too. All the best, xxx

Every time I listen to "I'm Sorry Baby (I Want You In My Life)" from the first Animal Logic album it gives me major goose bumps - few songs are _that_ good. I wonder if Ms. Holland's students realize how fortunate they are to have her as a professor?

Animal Logic I is one of my top ten favorite Albums, and I thought it would be fun to tell you that. I play it for practically everyone, and it's one of the disks I use to listen closely to my system whenever I change anything about it. Not only do I enjoy all these repeated listenings, it's a beautifully and cleanly recorded album, and good for proving the overall 'goodness' of the sound. The bio here paints the picture of a Very busy person. Hope you are standing up to it. I look forward to finding more of your music and wish you luck and continued creativity.

Deborah's version of "come to me" always causes a tear to roll when I hear it. So much hope and urgent longing in both the song and the lyrics. It reminds me of the excitement I felt when those parental strings first started to loosen a little in my mid-teens or so and I first started going enjoying the night life. Stepping out into dusk under a young night sky, accompanied by the faintest of warm breezes, the sun scarely finished setting - still throwing up an orange light into the deepening blue above, behind a black city skyline. Cruising the streets with the top down, your friends feeling as exhilarated as me by the rush of cool air, bright lights and the growing anticipation of all the unknown adventures that lie ahead in the night. That's what the Fright Night films are about for me: that there's so much more out there waiting if you'd only take the time to open your eyes and look, and take opportunities hand - and "come to me" with Deborah on vocals complements that perfectly. Now I have a lump in my throat so I'll stop there....peace.

RE: REMEMBER MY FORGOTTEN MAN This obscure song was sung at my father's funeral. It had an impact on me then and I've never fogotten it. At first I thought it was about a lynching. I hope it doesn't die. And with the war in Iraq, it is just as relevant today as it was when it was first written.

Dear Deborah (or Ms. Holland if you prefer), I just want to say Thank You from the bottom of my heart. I am a fan of both Fright Night films and I've been trying to get a soundtrack to either film. I found out that the version of FN1 is only instrumental. Although the instrumental version is great, it was your vocal version of the song that breathed life into it. I've been looking for this song for nearly 15 years ever since I've first heard it. And now I find it in mp3 form. Thank you for making the vocal version of "Come To Me" available. I have a lump in my throat right now, because little do you know how many people you have influenced or enamored with that song, myself included. I wrote a screenplay about a guy who meets a gorgeous woman who happened to be a vampire. He's no Charley Brewster, but he's just as likeable. I've made the screenplay into a novel, that I'm getting ready to send to the publishers. The title of it is called "Out the Box" for right now, unless I can find a better title for the manuscript. I really can't say much about the book, but just remember this name...Maila Delacroix. She is one incredible literary vampire character, that she could give Lestat, Jerry Dandrige or his sister Regine a run for their money. I hope you get to read this message, and also my book when it appears on the shelves of Barnes and Noble, Waldenbooks, etc. You're either gonna love Maila, or love to hate her. In a way, your song inspired me to write also, albeit books instead of songs, especially as one of my influences in developing the character of Maila Delacroix. Thank you again for singing the vocals from "Come To Me" and also making it available finally. Thank you for the inspiration. If you're near Atlanta or any city where I have a book signing, I'm saving a autographed copy of the book just for you. Continue being creative and take care.

Hey Deborah: Its been awhile since I last posted. I had hoped earlier this year to be visiting the Los Angeles and anticipated getting your autograph on a CD. Unfortunately, the conference I was going to be attending decided Seattle would be a better place to have a conference than Los Angeles. Grrr! Anyway, I appreciate the new MP3 link. I had never heard "For One Moment" before. Its just as perfect a pop song as "Dog and Pony Show." I hope someday you might add "If I Could Walk Away" from Circuitry Man 2 to your MP3 list. I'd be perfectly happy to pay money for a copy of that song. Anyway, here's hoping someday you acquire capital enough to record a collection of new music. Heck, a sequel to "The Panic Is On" would be a very welcome addition to my music collection. Anyway, here's hoping life is treating you well, Soccer Mom. Josh Shepherd

Wow! I read all of this praise for the past music and you have alot of love coming your way for that. Nobody has yet asked the key question. When is the next Deborah Holland project going to be released? It is obvious that all of these fans are fixated on your past projects, as am I, slightly (I mean I love Animal Logic and all of the movie tunes) but I'd sure like to see the next DH project, ASAP. That is just an opinion. I know you have grown, since all of these past projects, as fantastic as they were. I have the money saved up, for the next 3 Deborah Holland CDs. If it is fun for you, I recommend that you record them. I can see your growth in the songs that you post on-line for free. I think that all of these fans will buy new CDs and also tell their friends! Give it a try! We are all waiting, but no pressure, LOL!

Hello Deborah, I rediscovered Animal Logic II this week when I copied it over to my iPod to listen to at the gym. I have been playing non-stop all week! You have a terrific voice and write wonderful songs. I'm glad to see you are still recording. I look forward to finding your three solo albums. MW
1/25/2004: Rob Johnson Xanthanias@webtv.net
Back in the late eighties, I watched Fright Night II and was floored when the ending credits rolled and ne of the most beautiful voices grasp my heart and touched my soul. Over the years I have always stayed tuned to a channel when FN2 would be discovered (while surfing the channels) just for the so purpose of hearing that voice.... Recently I won an auction on ebay (over $120) for the original Fright Night sound track... I could not understand how a song from FN2 made it on FN1 until I got the CD, and to my dismay, realized that it was only the instrumental version. Although beautiful in its own right, it doesn't compare to Deborahs version of the song "Come to me". I have wanted Deborahs version for many years now and with Fright Night II on DVD and as of last night... now in my DVD player.. I was able to find out who the angel with a voice of pure gold was.. And that brought me to this site in my quest and thirst for more from her. So you can imagine how fast my heart started to beat as I read guestbook entry after entry, thanking Deborah for placing an MP3 file of "Come to me" on this site for her fans to download. "Deborah.. your music does more to people than you will ever realize.. It touches their very souls and moves them with only the purest of emotions. Thank you so much for moving me in this way." Rob

Hi, Deborah. A while back, way back in middle school, I pulled my old tape of FROGHT NIGHT 2 out of my film library, and I discovered the song COME TO ME for practically the first time in my life, and I'd listen to it all the time by recording it with my old Home Alone Talkboy. I loved it so much that in high school I made a copy of it for a friend of mine who was in a girl group called PAC. I recommended that if they really liked it, then they can probably make a cover of it. She thought it was an amazing song as well, but her group broke up before they can ever record another song. Here I am now, a college kid, and a DJ at my campus station OWL RADIO, and thanks to this website I can finally play the song as a part of my Scary Movie Music-themed show this Monday. Thanks Deborah for giving me a great song that I can now share with the students of my campus who like to tune into my show... all three or four of them. And if there's ever a time when you'll perform here in Florida, make sure I get an email because I want to be there when you are. Thanks. Billy
9/28/2003: Phillip Rogers Croupier@optonline.net
Ms. Holland. I was a big fan of the first Fright Night movie. I also liked the second one as well. One day years ago, I decided to watch the end credits of 'FN2' and I heard 'Come To Me.' I heard the instrumental version of 'Come To Me' in 'FN1.' It came as a pleasant surprise that Brad Fiedel gave it lyrics. You really brought the song to life with your amazing voice. Fright Night 2 is one of the few movies where I actually look forward to the end credits. I used to rewind my tape and listen to the song two or three times. You really did a great job on the vocals. Thanks for giving us a great song.
9/15/2003: Doug hdschwabe@aol.com
I just rented both Circuitry Man movies on DVD and enjoyed them immensely. Your commentary for the first film was great. It had been years since I seen these films and the thing that stayed with me all these years was your score and your songs. I love "If I Can Walk Away" from the second movie. It would be great if you can create a compilation CD of your soundtrack work, especially the CM movies.

Just wanted to say to you Deborah, that I am a NEW FAN and one now FOREVER. I was so touched by your voice with the song "Another Night Alone", from the movie A Kiss From A Stranger. You have reached my soul. The feelings you're able to bring about are spectular. I would love to see you perform in person. I also am telling everyone I know what a wonderful ARTIST that you are... Bless you for reaching in the core of who I am. Donna

Mary and all the Deborah Holland fans out there... If you like the songs from Fright Night II ... Might I recommend checking out the 'cult' films Circuitry Man & Circuitry Man II. Both films include music from the amazing Ms. Holland and the DVD includes *both* films on 1 DVD and the special features include commentary from Deborah about the musical score. (She even has a brief on-screen apperance as a 'torch singer' a seedy dive in the CM- I.)

Dear Deborah, I found your site a while ago and was so very pleased that "Come to me" was available as an MP3. I would like to thank you for sharing your songs. I am a fan of the film 'Fright Night and Fright Night 2' and this was the first ever FN song that I acquired. It took time to download, but was worth every single minute. Absolutely fabulous - I was in heaven. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU Some time later, I happend to catch the opening of the film "Kiss of a Stranger" and heard Dyan Cannon singing that wonderful song "Another Night Alone". I couldn't get it out of my head. I just had to see the end credits. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it wasn't Dyan singing at all (although I thought she did a wonderful mime), but the talented singer was of course ... Deborah Holland! You did a marvous job, and from your guestbook, it is a very popular song. I have highly recommended your site to other FN fans who especially loved your work on FN2, and hope that they can enjoy your other good work too. Thank you for the many hours of enjoyment you have given to so many people. I shall look forward to hearing more from you. Keep up the good work. Yours sincerely, Mary

5/18/2003: Paul Favour Favourpc@pacbell.net
Hello Deborah... Little by little I have dug in deeper to what I first came across in your "first" stuff with A.L. and I always find strength following strength. Strong songs, smart lyrics, compact arrangements and your "never fails" voice. For me, you are in the group with Randy Newman, Don Henley, Joni Mitchel... "Great Songwriters"... I would enjoy coming to LA, or thereabouts and catching a evening with you live... Is that possible? Short of that, perhaps we can work out a photo for you to autograph... you would be sharing wall space with those very same folks... Please consider it... We would be honored. Paul Favour, Modesto California.

Deborah, I e-mailed you some time ago... shortly after I re-discovered Animal Logic...(I´m that guy from Brazil) Ok. Let´s go honest here: I was able to download almost all of Animal Logic over the web, but I do feel a little troubled about it because (especifically) in your case I honestly and sincerely feel you should be getting your $$ compensation out of that. I wouldn´t bother if it were a Rolling Stones download... but I feel uncomfortable when it´s a Deborah (Animal Logic) Holland one. Then again, I was one of those privileged who witnessed your debut in Brazil (Rush Hour!!!) - it had such a powerful impact on me....I never forgot it and I immediately recall that as "the one perfect concert I´ve ever seen". It sounded so cool, so balanced, so intriguing, so fit. If my memory doesn´t fault on me... you were wearing a sweet dress, a little tight on the top and loose on the bottom... sort of a 50´s kind of dress.. singing and playing the keyboards...I remember that you looked soooo pretty and sang so well.. Just couldn´t forget that. Well, whatever it was, it made a very strong impression on me... I was not there just for the guys - I was there for the music (we so seldomly had bands from abroad playing here at that time) and you were not only part of the music, as I lattery discovered... you actually wrote all the tunes which I fell in love with. Of course I was expecting a bass solo. I certainly expected a drum solo too. That happened. Still, it was Deborah Holland who filled the ambience with the songs she had written (sorry you had to go to surgery in your throat.. I´d never tell.... ) Oh well... I ocasionally visit the Animal Logic (still waiting for lyrics) and the Deborah Holland website. I read the interviews.... and I´d like to say.. again... that I love the music you wrote and performed back then. Buying stuff from Brazil (like your recent solo albums) is still difficult currencywise (we still don´t make enough money down here.. regretfully). Deborah... all this is just to say that I support your lovely composing (three DH downloads I was able to find and love) and that I am still in love with your music from the AL years - oh, I´m not the nostalgic kind of person..I just love good music, whenever it´s from. Perhaps, there is a Spy in the House of Love down here. :-) I´m not a freak... but I do have and use the ICQ chat software with a couple of buddies around the world.. Maybe.. the Winds of Santa Ana blow down here. My nickname is Bluemoon and my ICQ number is 27713125. If you do have an ICQ and eventually check me out, my details are: "As soon as the sun goes down I´ll be alright" :-) Take real good care! Charlie "Bluemoon" :-)))

Several people have e-mailed me and asked how I got my copy of Animal Logic. E-bay is a wonderful thing and it is where I got mine. Try them because that is where I got my copy. I have had Animal Logic II for ages and was totally unaware of Animal Logic and found it on E-bay. Usually when I do check now there are a couple of copies available. However, I have enjoyed hearing from all of you who have inquired and have endevoured to place you with my "source" for our Animal Logic Fix. :-D

I have been looking ALL over for this version of the song. Had heard of it, but didn't remember what it sounded like. Truly you have a beautiful voice! Many thanks to you for posting that song. It's magnificent and sooo very haunting! Have a question, though, is there any piano sheet music available for that song? Good lord it's beautiful. :)

Hi Deborah, The music you make just gets better and better!! Thanks for teasing my ears all over again. I'm hooked and I am ordering your two most recent discs. Thankfully, I found your Fruedian Slip disc some years ago, in my search for Animal Logic B sides. Perhaps you might add those to your discography (I only know of two CD singles)? Anyway, I am looking forward to listening to more of your music. Thanks in advance! Deborah: Are you still doing any live performances around the LA area. I know its early, but I plan on visiting Los Angeles in the summer of 2004 and would love to hear you perform. Plus, I'd like to get your signature on a CD or two. Because of the influence of your Hard Times... CD, I've bought the entire 4-volume Asch Recordings of Woody Guthrie as well as the re-release of Mountain Music of Kentucy on the Smithsonian Folkways label. Would be neat to hear your interpretations of other 30's folk standards. Anyway, here's to your craft. I hope Soccer Mom-ing doesn't keep you from performing too much. Cheers.

I have just got to say that I have loved Animal Logic since I heard a demo in a record store I worked in in the late 80's. I bought the first CD, saw you play at the Park West in Chicago, which was also simulcast on WXRT radio which I taped. I later bought Animal Logic II and Freudian Slip. I just want to say I love your music and I always turn your music on to others. I hope to see you record and play more. Thanks Again!!

I didn't have time to read through the entire guestbook, but I'm curious to know if Animal Logic has plans to reunite and record yet another album of songs. I absolutely loved this band and have always kept my eyes and ears peeled for more great music from them. Best wishes!
1/8/2003: Jon Holmes jimac34@yahoo.com
I'm curious how you got hooked up with Copeland, and Clarke to make the Animal Logic CD's? I've followed Stanley Clarke for years and enjoy his playing. I like the Animal Logic stuff, but find the mixture of your group to be odd. You have a great voice, but it has more of a country feel which makes me wonder how a Jazz bassist, and a pop drummer would get grouped together with a country singer? Seems like an odd paring (I like it), but wonder how it came to be. Keep singing!
1/1/2003: Richard Hendren III Comsublant5@yahoo.com
Deborah, I have been searching for one of your songs for years. "For One Moment" from the movie Afterburn. I have been unable to find it for download in any site or on any of your cd's. If possible please let me know how to obtain a copy of this song I would appreciate it very much. Sincerely yours, Richard

I've just come asking about a snippet of a song that I heard on Circuitry Man II - Plughead Rewired. For the 10 seconds its on, well, it sounds great, even if it is the apparent signature track for the only nude scene in the entire movie. It's certainly hard to ignore a song with Deborah Shelton's breasts bobbing and Jim Metzler's ass in the air. (I'm sure you wrote a thank you letter to the Lovy brothers for that). Folks, even hearing a snippet of a Deborah Holland song is not enough to warrant a rental of this particular movie. But I do wonder if, perhaps, an MP3 of that song is floating about somewhere in the cyber-ether because the chorus, at least, sounds good. It's entitled "Walk Away" I think.
4/22/2002: Thomas Durkin djmurphy@yahoo.com
I always check this website for glimmers of hope that Deborah might grace us with another album or tour soon, her music is amazing. But I'm also wondering, how possible would it be to secure the permission to distribute Deborah's Christmas song on this site as a free MP3? I realize clearances would have to be obtained from Miles Copeland and/or EMI (the apparent current owners of the IRS catalogue). I can't imagine that any of those people have any intentions to milk further revenue from it. Don't mistake me, I'd be *more* than happy to actually pay for it, but having to pay upwards of $100 for this one song by purchasing the CD at collector's prices is a little unreasonable (and Deborah's not going to get a royalty from that purchase anyway). Does this idea appeal to Deborah? Is this even feasible? Thanks again for all the music, Thomas
4/5/2002: Josh Shepherd jwshep2@uky.edu
Just chiming in with everyone else who, after now owning or burning all your recordings I can find, would like to see you perform live. You got any gigs going around the Los Angeles area? I know this is a long shot, but I'm going to be in Austin, Texas in May. Happen that you would be playing down there? The semester would be over. Be a good time to mount a tour.
4/3/2002: Norm brad.bell@cogeco.ca
I am a fan of the Police and followed Stewart Copeland after as he moved through movie soundtracks and then his brilliant "The Rythmatist". Then I bought your Animal logic cd and was caught up in your vocals. Can't believe its taken me this long to look you up on the net but very glad I have more music to listen to. If you are ever planning on coming to Canada let me know. Would love to hear you live.

Greetings from Germany. I've been looking for years for that certain song 'Come to Me'. Thank you for sharing it with us. Dear Mrs. Holland, your voice is simply magnificent. It's a shame that your version of that song wasn't on the Fright Night II-Cd and that the soundtrack is no longer available. See ya. John

Dear Ms. Holland I am a fan of yours who has been trying to get your albums for years- since I heard you sing 'come to me' on Fright Night 2. We have just recently signed up for internet and I managed to find your site 3 weeks ago.Since then I have just managed to buy all 5 of your albums that I know of over the internet. It seems to be very hard to get your albums, I am very thankfull to have been lucky enough to get them all. I appreciate your talent very much, you have a beutiful voice. If you do have any other albums or are planning any could you e-mail me and let me know. Also could you please let me know if there is any easier source that sells your albums. Thank you very much. Have a great 2002. Stills- Tyrone, Ok.

The first thing I have to say is that I can't BELIEVE I missed your Nashville Bluebird show here a couple of years ago. I'm a local musician who has been a huge fan of yours ever since A.L. The obvious question is - will you be returning here for another gig anytime soon? I won't make the same mistake twice. I love your voice, am impressed with your resume', and would like to ask you some questions regarding your work that flow better over the air than the keyboard.

I wanted to thank you for putting up "come to me" on this webpage. For some reason -Brad Fiedel- performs it on the -Fright Night CD-, and it aint no way the same as hearing your, oh so beautiful voice along with the lovely lyrics as from the film. :} Its good seeing that some artists, even as talented as yourself, realises that making it available as mp3, doesnt stop people from also buying that same music on cd. Look after your voice, it's magic. Take care my friend. Best wishes, Shoes.

Regarding Dennis Loy's question (directly below), today I have downloaded Come to Me and played it on my computer, and I find the sound to be just as good as originally. This MP3 file hasn't been changed or re-posted to the Web since its original posting. I wonder if there is some local equipment or software issue at the root of this sound-quality problem. If anyone else notices a problem with this MP3 file, please let me know. --Alan Harris, Deborah's Web developer

Happy New Year Deborah and fans of Deborah: Like the poster before me, I got my first DVD player and the first DVD I ordered was Circuitry Man/Circuitry Man II. Can't wait to hear the commentary track. I also got my copies of Animal Logic I and II and Freudian Slip several months ago from Ebay's Half.com. Well worth the investment, especially Freudian Slip and the pop-perfect "Dog and Pony Show." I never thought pop music could sound so good. Still, looking over your recording history, Book of Survival is undeniably the best. However, Deborah, I've got to say its a bit of a misnomer to be calling Book of Survival new on your web site anymore. How many years has it been out now? Please everyone, go buy it so the stocks will run low and Deborah has to go and record a new album - with Soccer Mom and I'm On My Way on it.
1/6/2002: Don McQuillan carsdm@aol.com
Happy New Year Hope everyone had a nice Holiday season... Santa put something cool in my stocking this Christmas, A DVD Copy of "Circuitry Man" & "Circuitry Man II" (Both on the same DVD)** With Film Maker's commentary by Writers: Steven & Robert Lovy, Star: Vernon Wells (Who plays the Plughead character) and last, but not least, Deborah Holland. (Who scored the film, sings a few tracks and makes a brief cameo appearence as the torch singer in the club -- early in the film. ) Deborah commentary was really interesting - she tells a little bit about how she wrote the songs and the various bits of incidental music. She also kidded with the Lovy brothers about how many fans have contacted her via e-mail to find out how they could get a copy of the Soundtrack - mainly for a copy of "You Do This To Me".~ She also mentions that she did not score the sequel "Circuit Man II", but one of her songs appears twice in the movie "If I Could Walk Away" adding: "Miles Copeland really knows how to stretch his licencing dollar." ~ If you have a DVD Player, The Circuitry Man DVD is definitely worth it just for Deborah's commentary alone. The movie itself is a fun (Sometimes campy) Sci-Fi Lovestory. Beside... you get to see Deborah's film debut!! LOL!~~ Hope everyone has a great 2002 ! And we hear some great things from Deborah this year.. Take care, Don in Philly, PA
1/4/2002: Karen kf4lqv@bellsouth.net
Deborah, I can't get enough of your music, I enjoy it so much. I have all the animal logic, your CD's and the mp'3 from your web site. Please what songs did you record with Jackson Browne and Glen Phillips? The Christmas CD has been impossible to find at a reasonable cost. When will you be back in Atlanta? All of your fans wish you would record more for us. Best of luck in this new year.
12/10/2001: Don McQuillan carsdm@aol.com
Hi Kerri & Deborah Holland fans: Deborah's Christmas Track "IT ONLY COMES ONCE A YEAR" -- was on the -long out of print- 1990 IRS Records Compilation "Just In Time For Christmas" [X2 13052] - which includes holiday songs from: Deborah Holland, Klark Kent (AKA Stewart Copeland) Squeeze, Rebel Pebbles, Timbuk 3, Dread Zeppelin and Wall of Voodoo. Recently I was lucky enough to find a copy on EBAY. You may want to check there or an used CD Shop. This is yet another recording that Miles Copeland, in his infinite wisdom, has decided to pull from the market & not reissue. Good luck in your search, --Don in Philly, PA--- Carsdm@aol.com

Hi Deborah, I saw Circuitry Man years ago, and while it did have its goofy charms, the non-existence of its soundtrack was definitely not one of them! So thank you for posting these songs, and is there anyway to send you a suggested payment (paypal, etc)? Or could you propose a suggested donation to a favorite charity? Thanks again, Paul

Dear Deborah, I fell in love with your voice oh so long ago when I watched "Circuitry Man" the first time. Since, I have been on a personal crusade of endless search for that soundtrack for close to a decade. Thank you so much for putting those mp3's of beautiful, lost music on your site. Your work in Animal Logic rocked. Your voice is really awesome and I thank you for all the beautiful music you make. In other words, Cool! Later.

Hello Deborah; You are a wonderful and very talented lady. And I have a question that only you can answer. In "Circuitry Man" you sang a song entitled "I can`t stop cryin`". Who was the male voice that blended so tight and natural with you. That was two part harmony at its best. All the best in future endeavours. Gary S. Melnyk

Thanks for the suggestion of finding Deborah Holland and Animal Logic CDs which are currently out of print. This is not an endorsement or advertisement for any particular web site. I just know that I have successfully ordered Animal Logic, Animal Logic II, and Deborah Holland's Freudian Slip from Half.com, a site sponsored by E-Bay. I have no idea what to expect in terms of quality. I have ordered out of print items from Half-Com before and not been disappointed, YET. But I think this order will put them to the test. If it comes out okay or bad, I'll inform the board. Wish me luck.

Hi everyone: For those of you into finding rare gems Music-wise... Might I suggest checking out eBay. Over the past year I've been able to locate some ultra-rare "Animal Logic" and Deborah Holland CDs. Many long since out of print. Some of my recent finds include an Animal Logic 3 inch import CD with the tracks "Changing Of The Guard" & Lopsy Lu (live)...An Austrian Import with "NightOwls" on it... and the "Someday We'll Understand" EP with 4 Live Animal Logic LIVE tracks-- There's A Spy, Someday We'll Understand, Firing Up The Sunset Gun and Someone To Come Home To. (Recorded in Boston,MA) Some really cool tracks ! I've even picked up a copy of Deborah's hard to find "Fraudian Slip" CD. With some scouting around, you might find the Deborah Holland/Animal Logic CD or memorabilia you've been looking for. (NO, I don't work for eBay... LOL!) Consider this a public service announcement for Collectors of "AL" & Deborah Holland rarities. Take care everybody, Don in Philly, PA Carsdm@aol.com

Deborah, I just want to let you know that this long after the fact, everyone that I play Animal Logic for invariably ends up loving it. At this point, high on my wish list is landing a copy of Freudian Slip. I've heard some of the sound samples for your more current songs and am fascinated. Aside from unabashed fan gushing, I'd love to know if you have any plans in the future to play in Chicago again. Thanks again for the glistening tracks in Animal Logic's oeuvre; I plan to keep on making new fans of your music. Thanks, Thomas

Enjoyed your tunes very much. You are wonderful performer and lyricist. I play bass in a wedding band, and our lead singer is about to release a record I thought you might like. Just click here to check it out. When you visit the Philly area again, I would love to stop out and catch you live. Keep up the wonderful work!

I just wanted to drop by and say "hi" to Deborah and to let the gang here know that Circuitry Man has finally been released on DVD. It includes audio commentary by Steven Lovy, Robert Lovy (directors) Vernon Wells and our very own Deborah Holland!! It's quite interesting to hear the stories behind the making of the movie and the soundtrack. Thanks for the fun, Deborah! Dave

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I really liked You Do This To Me from the first time I saw Circuitry Man, and tried to get a copy. On the movie credits it said there was an IRS soundtrack - never could find one. Couldn't find it anywhere. And no luck at DeborahHolland.Con. Now if I can figure out the chords...

Deborah, Your voice is wonderful, you should be a huge star. I agree with Arlene "another night alone" is a great song. I was so glad to find the download on your web site. Hopefully, you will be in Atlanta, Ga. in the near future and I can see you preform. How about some more CD's?
8/5/2001: Arlene DeJesus gizcow@aol.com
Deborah Your song 'Another Night Alone' is FANTASTIC. I heard it a couple of nights ago on 'Kiss of a Stranger', a TV movie w/ Muriel Hemingway. Why wasn't this song a BIG hit so it would be played on the radio. I just wonder how many others have never heard it? What a shame...they're real missing out on a perfectly wonderful song. One of the best I ever heard.

Deborah, Thankyou so much for your music. It has given me many hours of enjoyment. Just got done reading your interview on another web-site. I found it interesting that you felt like you were playing second fiddle to Stanley Stewart, in my opinion it would not have been animal logic without your stunning and soulful vocals. I just ordered two of your solo CD's and can not wait to hear them. Keep it coming, and thanks again for sharing a bit of yourself with the rest of us. Sincerely, Rich

Deborah, Hello dear, it's Joseph again. Is there going to be any shows in SF or LA anytime in the near future? Have you thought of doing a homebrewed cd with a cd burner ( a la what David Baerwald has done) with random b-sides, demos and outtakes (maybe an mpeg or two of live performances) for sale to the fanbase? rambleing over, z

Hi Deborah! I've been listening to "Love in the Ruins (Doctor Dear Doctor)" today. Wow! I forgot to tell you that even though you wrote this, I think, about romanace, it really applied to real friendship, years ago in my life. I had a friend who passed away from melonma, about the same time you guys released the Animal Logic II CD. At her wake, her doctor was crying because he could not save her. He was really upset. I knew how he felt, not only because I loved her as a friend, as he did, but because I had heard your song at the same time. Your poetry crossess all boundaries! It really means alot to me. Thanks!! Friends forever..............Ray

Hello Ms. Holland, I have put an order in today's mail for your solo albums. I have always enjoyed your work with the Animal Logic project (the two albums are my favorite "road music" on car trips), and have always wondered what became of you. Then I got this computer and plugged your name into a search engine, and here you are. Glad to see that you are surviving. Best wishes for future endevours. Phil Daulton

Hello, I have a "perfect" copy of 'COME TO ME' from Fright Night 2. (I edited out the talking part of the soundtrack that leads into the song, and ruins it for many.) If you would like, I can send the mp3 to you as an e-mail attachment, or some other way you suggest such as a cd by regular mail. You could put it on your web site and please so many of your loyal fans. You could buy me a Beck's beer someday! (just kidding). Let me know.

Bless you, bless you, bless you for obtaining the MP3's from Circuitry Man. How many artists would go to that much trouble for her fans? Not many, I'll tell you. I am so pleased. I'm actually going to invest in an MP3 player so I don't have to park my rump at the computer everytime I want to hear the song. This will also allow me to bring you a whole new slew of fans. Next step is to start a campaign to get Circuitry Man on DVD. I'm a regular visitor to the Stomp Tokyo website which features reader reviews on neglected movies. Question: Is filmmaker Tom Holland your husband or a relation to you?
4/22/2001: Lucille Younger lwy@aol.com
Deborah: I figure every other year you ought to do Chicago. So, that means we should be seeing again here sometime this year--right? Hope So.

I can't believe it! You are competing with yourself in this songwriting business. "On My Way" is now my favorite song of all times. How do you come up with this stuff? The poetry and depth of human experience really moves me. Your website shows how many really cool fans you have all over the country and I just wanted to remind you, I'm definitely one of the biggest appreciators of your work. More please, if it pleases you!

Was wondering if you have begun to list a 2001 tour. Are you doing any performances in the L.A. area ???

Deborah, So may queries about "you do this to me" from Circuitry Man !! I would like to find a chart or sheet music to this song. Eventually I will probably just break down transcribe it but it would save time if I could find it. I don't want it for any comercial purpose. I'm actualy an engineer with a music degree. I have a smal jazz combo all engineers by day and we play every Friday night in my loft studio. This song would be a ton of fun. It's just that once I hear a song I can't seem to let go of it until I understand what makes it tick. Can this be had ? It's such a beautiful work !

Dear Deborah: Ever since I first viewed the movie "Circuitry Man", (way back when!!!), I have been trying to find a copy of the sound track for that movie. I have searched and searched, and now I have found out that Miles Copeland owns the songs that were performed by you on that movie. I see MANY letters to you about this, and I would like to let Miles know that I, (as well as many others), would like to get this soundtrack. Can you or anybody out there let me know how to get hold of Miles? I would like to add my name to the MANY that are dying to get this soundtrack. Sincerely, Rick Forester

"You do this to me" leaves goose bumps up and down my spine. Too bad the Circuitry Man sound track is not available. Looks like the VHS sound track will have to do for now. Keep singing and writing, especially singing.

All us fans want to know the 2001 concert dates. Let us know. And when is that New CD coming out?
3/11/2001: jimmy shadyt2911@aol.com
hi Deborah, anything new in the works? i've dug everything you've recorded, can't get enough. hope you swing through dallas, texas soon. jimmy
3/7/2001: Josh Shepherd pbjshep@kih.net
Deborah - Thank you for the downloads on your website. It's nice to be able to get anything new. My sister and I especially like Soccer Mom, although, whew, the subject matter hits pretty close to home, for more than just us, I'm sure. Anyway, for all you fans who wanted the soundtrack to Circuitry Man, I embarked on a rather snarled journey to reach Miles Copeland. He is, at least of the time I tried to contact his office, ensconced at ARK21 records. I wrote him and received a genial replay from a Versa Manos, informing me that all of IRS Records assets were bought up by EMI. I persevered, contacting a Mr. Martin Nutley with customer services at EMI in Britain. According to Mr. Nutley: "Ownership and what "Rights" come with it or might be available or can be obtained is always a difficult matter. Unfortunately, these are the areas that are only explored when the possibility of a commercial use is being considered. I regret that we are unable to do this research for one-off consumer enquiries, and the reasons why will likely be obvious to you. All I can say is that the item in question is not currently commercially available from EMI Records UK on any product in our current ranges. Sorry." Looks likem we're all going to have to buy the remaining VCR copies of Circuitry Man, as it is not likely to make the cut in DVD format, and burn it on our own CDs. Now I'm not suggesting anything, but, hypothetically, if someone were to make a recording downloadable ...

Please add me to the list of those who would like to have a Circuitry Man soundtrack. Some of the best movie music I have ever heard.Thank you.

i just wanted to let you know that i think animal logic 1&2 are excellent bodies of work. being a recording musician myself i appreciate the complexity of your craft. living in a birmingham al. i know that the chances of you or animal logic appearing in this area are shall we say nonexistant. but you do have a devoted fan here. in particular the songs on al2 are all exceptional and i can tell that you all had a great time in the studio. please tell me there will be an animal logic 3. i can only imagine how cool it would be, but knowing how difficult it is to get to get musicians of your caliber together is extremely difficult. i listen to your music constantly at work, it helps me concentrate and it makes me laugh when my boss says "are you listening to that polar bear music again?"
2/21/2001: Ed Myers emyers@emyers.com
Watching Circuitry Man the other day, I was stunned to learn that you not only sang (beautifully)but wrote the songs (equally so) for this movie, including the classic torch song "You're Making Me Crazy" (please forgive if the title is not exact, as I'm well away from the VCR) Frankly, I thought it was a standard of earlier days, until I read the credits. If you post a schedule of your appearances, pleast put me on your e-mail list to receive information on new bookings. Also, if you know where I might get a cd(s) of your earlier work, I'd appreciate it.

I've been a huge fan since Animal Logic. I'm Sorry" is still one of my all time favorite songs. If you ever tour Maine, we'd love to have you at the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor. Professor John Cooper Music/Media
