Miss you on myspace, though it IS getting a bit tiresome there. I corresponded with you a couple times a couple years ago about my patent-pending Cellocaster that I play with Dan Bern. Anyway, I am writing to tell you (if you haven't already heard) that I heard a snippet of Animal Logic today on NBC during the men's finals at Wimbledon. I think it was "Rose colored glasses" but I couldn't be sure because the snippet was so short and they only played it once. But still, it was an incredible match and people around the world were watching with their eyes glued to the television. Thank you so much for the song " Come to Me" From Fright Night 2. Best part of the whole movie ;) I downloaded the other songs from your MP-3 downloads. Very nice of you to let us, the public have them for free. I wish they had an album for the movie afore mentioned. The song "Dressed in Red" is very hard to find. I did run across one of the cuts. It's the one from the dance scene with the lyrics. But I can't find the electric guitar version that was also in the movie. I know who wrote the song but like I said impossible to find. You wouldn't happen to know where I could get this? Thanks again for the downloads and can't wait to listen to the. If there anything like "Come to Me" I'll be back to write another post. You do have a lovely voice It was great to see the Refugees profile in Aprils Guitar Player Magazine. From there I was able to catch up on your CDs & music career since Animal Logic-your voice stills sounds gorgeous! Spy in the House of Love sounds great from the clip I heard of the Refugees version. Your solo CDs sound great too & your lyrics are finely crafted-entertaining & heartfelt all at once. Off your latest CD: The Violin! I had just given up on forcing my son to practise the classics only weeks ago..this song is soooo apt for me at the moment. Bad Girl Once: Tequila Induced....LOL!!! Thanks for the great songs/lyrics & continued success. I recently bought a new multi-cd player and was going through my cd's looking for a couple cd's to baptize the player. I picked up Animal Logic....I didn't realize how much I missed hearing your voice. I decided to google you and am glad to see that you haven't "retired". I will be buying more Deborah Holland! Your still in the player right between John Haitt and World Party. Hope you approve. Great vocals , I love your song "Come to me" from the movie Fright Night 2..I wish everyone would know who that unknown singer is..Thank you DEB I just caught a Christmas song by you on cable music here in Palm Harbor Florida.
I have always been a big fan of yours and it was so nice to hear your fabulous voice again. You really are something special. In Florida anytime soon? Im telling my fellow bozo musicians about Copeland's Animal Logic project and how awesome this gig was from my Stanley Clarke obsession. I wanted to tell them about the mystery chic singer. Thank Heavens for Google....we found you! Hi Deborah! I saw you in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with Andy Summers, S. Coppeland, and Stanley Clarke. I'll never forget that show. The year was 1987. Great musicians and your voice is wonderfull and keyboards too. All the best! Hi.Nice site and beautiful voice. Many thanks. Hi You are The Best!!! Bye Everybody in Phoenicia was bowled over by your concert. Thank you for an amazing gig!!!! Any time you come back our way you'll make lots of eager fans very happy!!!! Check out my favorite Animal Logic TV appearance from 1989/1990 on VH-1 New Visions with Nile Rogers. This is from YouTube. "As Soon as the Sun Goes Down" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgLGBCOmwZ4 Just a note that your schedule was not correctee for Daylight time or something. I tuned in today to two of your four posted radio interviews (each ten minutes before the posted time) and in both instances managed to catch the last of your interview. At least the nominally 10pm guy had your guitar miced properly! Always great to hear you. Come back to Honolulu soon. Aloha. I have followed your music for a long time and am a big fan! Keep'em coming! Hi Deborah It was good to meet you at the radio station on Saturday - KALW. Your songs were great! I hope your Bay Area shows went well. I saw a comercial for a new series that is sounds similar to your CD theme. The comercial caption was "did you ever wonder what happened AFTER 'sex in the city'. The program is called NOTES FROM THE UNDERBELLY - ABC. Maybe there is a song match from your CD! Just thought i would pass it along. peace to you. -elaine Hi Deborah, I am glad to see that you are headed back to the New York area, and I have just ordered tickets for your April 28 show. I can't wait. Hi Deb. Just downloaded the Bad Girl CD and am loving it. Congratulations on a great piece of work. I suspect you're still a bad girl after all. -RIck Nice post there. Anyway, just to see what happens to this, I was glad to hear, Deborah, that you took my advice and submitted "Bad Girl Once" to Pandora.com. As I said in the guestbook post that got inexplicably deleted, this music radio website has been a revelation for me. I have been led to buy music from artists I would never have heard from had it not been for Pandora. Kristin Hersh, Noe Venable, Larry Carlton, Terence Blanchard, and Connie Dover are just some of the more "out of the mainstream" artists I have been turned on too. I also added my support of your music to Pandora, suggesting all of your solo albums. I'd love to hear a random spin of "I Am a Union Woman" from The Panic is On. Anyway good luck and hopefully this post will remain. WHEN IS THE ANIMAL LOGIC REUNION? I still listen to the music all the time, great stuff! I have a video collection of all the TV appearances between 1989 and 1990 and I never get tired of watching. Thanks for all the great music. Dave Hi! I love your site. I've been a fan for such a long time. I hope you remember the time I met you at the Shoney's Inn in Nashville about 1992. I was working the night shift at the front desk and I got you to autograph my casette covers (remember casettes? LOL). You were so surprised that I actually owned a copy of the Animal Logic II casette! Thanks for the memory. :-) Let us know if you add Nashville to your tour dates. Congrats on the new CD. It sounds great! I bought it and put it on my iPod and I have enjoyed every track. Deborah we listen to your new CD Bad Girl on German radio. When do you come to play in Germany? As a fan from late 80,s . Again thank you so very much Ms.Deborah Holland for your music ! Read guest book date 1/25/2004 Mr.Rob Johnson : " Deborah, your music does more to people than you will ever realize. It touches thier very soul and...... Warm regards Thank god , been serching for your nice melow music after the movie " CIRCUTRY MAN " HOW MANY YEARS FROM NOW ? ALMOST GIVE UP ! THANK YOU How cool is Ms. Holland's new CD? I can't wait! I'm so excited to have been there when she was throwing these tunes into the Gengis Cohen clay turn tables and hearing the rave mutterings of Holland afficianados around me as they waited w/ bated breath to hear the intros begin post-tuneage; and as always, the raw form of her tunes and vocal stylings trump the system with ease. May everyone enjoy her wise irony and crafty albeit smooth delivery of her elegant songsmithdom. Hooray for Holland and her patient fans. Maybe I'll get to be in her posse someday... hey, I could get lucky, never know. (Crossing fingers). Best to you Deborah, and your fab, poignant voice! Thank you very much for putting You Do This To Me on the site as an MP3. I have been searching for 15 years for a soundtrack album from Circuitry Man to buy that track. I would also love to see your work on iTunes Music Store. This is where I buy most of my music these days. -Jim Ms. Holland, I have stumbled across your work by near-accident, having found the first Animal Logic CD in January of this year in the used section of a local record store. I bought it on the strength of Steward Copeland's and Stanley Clarke's reputation, being a serious admirer of both these gentlemen for their work with The Police and Al Di Meola, respectively. Two weeks later I found and bought the second Animal Logic album. Over the past 20 years I have found depth and resonance in many musical styles, from pop, rock, and metal to jazz, classical, and bluegrass -- but one thing that has always been missing from my large CD collection is the work of female singer/songwriters. The female voice for some reason never really reached me in the gut as male singers' have, though there of course many women with fearsome technical ability and the ability to emote impressively. I have no clue why this is. Maybe it's a sign of a much-belated maturity, but you are the first performer to break through that wall for me. Again, I don't know why. I'm pretty sure a music-theoretic analysis will uncover no answers for me. I find your work and your performances on the Animal Logic CDs to be professionally crafted while still retaining a rawness of emotion and a lyrical depth that holds its own with anything else I have heard. My current favorite is "I Won't Be Sleeping Anymore", but I'm sure my preferences will shift as I learn to appreciate your work more over time. I had feared that the industry had left you behind after Animal Logic dissolved, so it would be an understatement to say that I was delighted when I found the Wikipedia article about and its link to your website. I'm very happy to see you have more work available and I look forward to purchasing it. Hopefully you'll get royalties from these sales as you didn't from the used, out-of-print Animal Logic CDs! Thank you so much for breaking down a wall that has parititioned off my appreciation of part of the musical universe. I'm not surprised to learn that part of your career involves teaching, if you can penetrate my thick skull with a pair of 15 year-old, underappreciated CDs. Warmest regards and best wishes for your future success. your song..another night alone is favourite of all time, brings back so many memories for me, i think your music is wonderful and meaningful, i wish you all the best, heather,xx you have a beautiful site. you are very talented. i wish you much success. may all your dreams come true. peace. The Molly Malone's gig was amazing. I'm so grateful I was able to attend, and so sorry for those who missed it! Deborah, I'm so excited to hear news of your new CD!! It's been a long wait, but I'm positive it will be worth it. I just love all your work, from Animal Logic (now that was a FUN time!) to Book of Survival. Such an excellent songstress you are! I only wish I could be there at Molly Malone?s for your show. LA folks have all the luck! I just wanna say that I've been a fan of your voice for about 15 years now....Your voice truly moves me in a way which I can not say, Perhaps your voice is too beautiful for words.... Countess P.S. Best Of Luck.... My husband and I are desperately trying to find a Fright Night Two soundtrack in which you sang "Come to Me". So far we have had no luck. Do you know where we can find this, or do you have any copies that we could purchase from you? My husband is a really big fan of your voice, please let us know how we can obtain this.
